Syllabus

Key To Music follows an outline syllabus of modern and classic songs that has been divided up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories. This is by no means an exhaustive list - naturally, the student can work on any song or style of their choosing provided that they are deemed able enough.

The freedom to direct their own studies and choose what material to learn is also key to motivating students and ensuring they build up a repertoire of material they enjoy playing. If students wish to study for grades, they can be entered for the Rock School grades or RGT; however aptitude tests are not compulsory.

Exploring the skills and pleasures of playing in group situations is a core element in the Key To Music syllabus. Students can participate in workshops when their tutors judge that they've mastered the necessary material. For students that choose not to do grades, this provides the incentive to progress.

We understand that people have differing ambitions for their playing. Rest assured your goal is Key To Music’s goal.
