Lewis Fowler is a professional guitarist, sound engineer and guitar tutor based in North West London.
Lewis has had much experience playing in both live and studio environments, touring with artists in Romania, Austria and The U.S.A. He is currently working on an album with My Little Austrian Friend and gigging with Jerome Thomas, whilst also playing sessions with a variety of acts.
Lewis has most experience playing blues, rock, jazz and acoustic styles of guitar but is also very competent with other techniques making him extremely versatile. He graduated from his degree course at London College Of Music in 2011 where he previously completed a Diploma course at the end of which he won the “Top Performer” award. His largest gigs to date include performances at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, ‘Hospice Casa Sperantei’s Edelweiss Ball 2009’ in the Hilton, Bucharest, ICC in Birmingham, The O2 Islington and The O2 Indigo.
Furthermore Lewis has had much experience as a sound engineer over the last 5 years working with: Paul Gilbert, Nate Watts (Stevie Wonder’s bassist and musical director), Ash Soan (session drummer), Thomas Leeb, Snarky Puppy, Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse’s drummer) and Peredur Ap Gwynedd (Pendulum’s Guitarist) to name a few.
Philosophy, Style and Expertise :
Lewis has taught over 25 students in the last 10 years with a wide variety of abilities (references available upon request) and has taken this time and experience to be able to tailor his teaching style to fit the exact needs of his students, producing quick results and enjoyable lessons. He has had a great deal of hands on experience within the music industry and therefore feels he can offer his students tuition with invaluable experience to back it up.
Lewis’ teaching style is focussed towards teaching his students the music they enjoy playing and listening to, whilst incorporating all of the skills and knowledge a guitarist/musician needs to have at his or her disposal. He can play and teach in a variety of styles ranging from Pop, Acoustic, Rock, Blues, Metal, Funk and Jazz. He also has an extensive knowledge of technique, musical theory, and music technology.
